Our own Tom Davis dropped an extraordinary video over the weekend on his Teton Tenkara YouTube channel. We enter his fishing man cave where he walks us through his extensive tenkara rod collection. If you have an eye for Japanese rods, you’re not going to want to miss this one!
It’s really interesting to see and learn what Tom likes in tenkara rods, and how these various models fill different needs in his quiver. Obviously, personal preferences may vary based on the conditions and species you prefer to fish, but I doubt there are many that have cast as many unique tenkara rods as Tom. This is definitely worth watching and taking notes.

I concur on the wonderfulness of the TenBum 40 and 36 (my TenBum 40 is the only rod for which I have a complete backup).

So good to see your collection Tom. I love how much you cherish your rods. It inspires me to go through and make sure that I am only keeping the rods I use and love most. Isn’t it interesting how we do become connected to certain rods. Sometimes over sentimental reasons and sometimes over how well they seem to “fit”.
