A lightly organized free to attend gathering held at the San Juan River in New Mexico. This is the fourth iteration of the San Juan tenkara meet up. The initial meet up with be at the parking lot at 9AM on Friday, where conditions and plan for the days’ fishing will be discussed. Fishing will take place Friday & Saturday. North Carolina Oni Tenkara Immersive

Join tenkara fly fishing guide Robert M. Worthing of Tenkara Guides LLC and Tenkara Angler’s own Matt Sment for an immersive Oni tenkara fly fishing experience emphasizing on-water learning. Students will enjoy two days of instructional fishing on the private trout waters of Lake Logan, North Carolina.
Students have the option of lodging on-site with the instructors for a very low rate. On-site lodging includes private water access passes. New England AFI Catskills Tenkara 101 Workshop

Presented by Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Armed Forces Initiative & Nate Camp
The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Connecticut AFI Liaison Nate Camp is hosting a Tenkara 101 workshop in the Catskills of New York. Participants will learn the centuries old method of tenkara; fixed line fly fishing in the backcountry. AFI and skilled volunteers will mentor attendees on small stream tactics and teach classes on tenkara history, techniques and conservation. All tenkara fly fishing equipment will be provided for this event. If you do not have waders, except to wet wade so have pants/shorts and shoes you do not mind getting wet.
This event is open to all members of the military community (Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families). You do not need to be a BHA member to attend. Registration is necessary.
The Great Wisconsin Driftless Tenkara Campout
May 17-19, 2024
Esofea Campground – Westby, Wisconsin

An annual free to attend event held in the beautiful Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Several days of fishing will be followed by nights of food, fun, and storytelling. A few group sites have been reserved for campers, but those interested are highly encouraged to contact the organizers via their Facebook Group event page to insure there is still available space. Plenty of additional camping is available on site for a modest charge.
White Mountains Tenkara Campout
June 7-9, 2023

The Northeast’s premier tenkara gathering, take advantage of the miles of beautiful brook trout water in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.
