The Winter 2017-18 Issue of Tenkara Angler is Live!

It’s my pleasure to announce that the Winter 2017-18 issue of Tenkara Angler magazine is (finally) live!

TA Cover Winter 2017-18

This issue covers several topics but focuses quite a bit on off-stream tenkara pursuits. Since the weather is cold, most people can’t get out and fish, but it doesn’t mean they can’t prepare for next season. The Winter issue features a fly tying feature, highlighting favorites from 5 different tyers, a complete DIY on tamo (net) building, a workout plan to get you “Tenkara Fit”, as well as some recommended books to read (once you’re done with the magazine of course).

In addition, you’ll find all the phenomenal essays, destination stories, photography, art, poetry, etc… you’re accustomed to reading in each issue.

As usual, it will be available as a free e-magazine over at Issuu, HERE.

And also available for sale as a physical magazine and PDF download in the Blurb bookstore, HERE.

Enjoy!

Two Week Warning: Winter 2017-18 Submission Deadline December 8th

No.09 (1)

If this were a forum or social media site, I guess you could consider this post a “bump” reminding everybody that we are now 2 weeks away from the submission deadline for the Winter issue of Tenkara Angler.

If you were considering submitting and just aren’t sure what topics are appropriate or how to do it, feel free to email me at your convenience at mike@tenkaraangler.com, and I’d be happy to walk you through the process.  Additional details can be found HERE.

Winter 2017-18 Issue: Call For Submissions

No.09 (1)

Do you feel that chill in the air?  I’ve seen photos of (gasp) snow in certain areas of the country already, and even down here in the South, folks are reaching for their flannel & jackets. As such, I figured it was time to officially extend the “call for submissions” for the Winter issue of Tenkara Angler magazine.

I know there’s a lot going on right now – it’s been a very busy year for tenkara fishing – for those both new and not so new to the sport.

As such, we’d love to hear what you’ve got to say – any and all topics are fair game – fishing reports, gear reviews, destination travel, essays, poetry, fiction, photography, art, whatever – as long as it’s tenkara or conservation related. Similar to prior issues, the tenkara community will craft the contents of the issue.

(And don’t forget, if you are a company that submits content, please don’t hesitate to also submit an ad for your services, inclusion is the least I can do).

If you are interested in contributing, I’ve outlined some simple parameters for content submission HERE.

The deadline for content submission will be December 8th, 2017, with the target publishing date toward the end of that same month, right around the holidays!
