I’m so happy to be able to announce that the 2024 issue of Tenkara Angler magazine is now available.

The 2024 Issue of Tenkara Angler is Now Available! - Tenkara Angler

While I don’t usually “drop” the magazine on a random Wednesday, this one was so long in coming, I figured it was best to just get it out there. The astute observer might even notice that it’s just called the 2024 issue. Now that February is halfway over, I didn’t think it proper to refer to it as 2023-24.

So What’s Inside?

I think we have some really cool stuff this go-round. The magazine isn’t quite as thick as last year’s, but the quality of the writing sure makes up any perceived gaps. In the pages of the 2024 magazine you’ll find articles about on stream perseverance, fishing friendships, trip reports from Appalachia to Alaska to Italy, and a very interesting deep dive for those of you who might choose to use your tenkara rods as Euro nymphing tools. We even touch a bit on fishing etiquette, so take notes you heathens! The magazine concludes with some stellar photography and a quick run through current events at the time of publication.

Familiar and new contributors include: Amanda Hoffner, Arran Kerr, Dennis Vander Houwen, Don Lux, Martin Montejano, Michael Agneta, Mike Graham, Nick Feller, Steven McCaslin, Tom Davis, Tommaso Fedele and William (Bill) Robichaud. Additional photography credits: Akihiro Hoshino, Hugh Crissman, Jared Willadsen, Jim Tignor, Jonathan Antunez, Matt Fields, Matt Sment, & Rachael Rosenstein.

For now, this issue is only available as a physical magazine and/or PDF download in the Blurb bookstore, HERE.

Notes About Purchase

One nice thing about a smaller magazine is that it costs a bit less to print! While it’s still a bit more expensive than I would like, if you’d like to order a physical copy it will retail for $25, instead of last year’s $35. Similar to last year, print-on-demand still isn’t cheap. (Full transparency, we only make a few $ an issue.) But I will say, and as those that have bought prior issues can attest, this Premium issue is a really high quality, heavy paper stock. Not a read & recycle/discard sort of magazine.

The magazine takes about a week or two to print, ship, and deliver the physical copies if you’re interested. And if you just can’t wait, there’s also a far less expensive PDF option at $10 with instant download.

What if I Wait?

While there’s nothing quite like paging through a physical magazine, there will be other options in the future… given you’re very patient. As always, we will eventually add this magazine to our “free” magazine reader (as in the past). You can check out last year’s issue there right now. We’ll also begin to publish the individual articles to the Tenkara Angler website starting sometime later this year.

I really hope you all enjoy the 2024 Tenkara Angler magazine as much as we enjoy bringing it to you. Sorry it took a little longer than usual, thank you so much for being a fantastic fishing community!
