Sunday Morning Riffles – 7/14/2024

Happy Sunday! Are you ready to start the new week? Is it going to be a fishy one for you? I certainly hope it is. I’m currently finding myself tying a lot of flies as I hide from the heat (and rain) in the cool A/C. I should be well stocked in flies like this one once this weather breaks.

I’ve also found it a good opportunity to go back and re-watch some of the Tenkara Academy online courses from Discover Tenkara. Now, I’ll warn you, they’re not free, but if you want to advance your understanding of tenkara, they’re something you should really check out. (Feel free to use TA10 at checkout to save an additional 10% on individual courses.)

But enough about me not fishing, let’s get into the Riffles…

Us tenkara anglers are used to looking at comparison charts. Heck, many of you subscribe to and swear by Tom’s Rod Flex Index chart. Well, I stumbled upon a slightly different chart from J. Stockard that was embedded in a blog post they made about fly tying threads. You may (or may not) find it interesting, informative, or helpful when purchasing supplies to craft your next kebari…
