I’m so happy to be able to announce that the 2025 issue of Tenkara Angler magazine is now available.

So What’s Inside?
While the 2025 magazine features selections that cover a wide range of topics and interests, I was happy to see that the majority of the articles have a “Rockies and West” slant to them. With most of the Tenkara Angler editorial staff living east of the Mississippi, our online content has always had a bit of an unintentional Eastern bias.
So come along as we meander through New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, and California (before hopping on a flight to Switzerland) telling stories of native species, scenic adventures, and wonderful examples of community through the eyes of the anglers that experienced them. There are also entries about flies, gear, digital art, and an opinion piece one may even deem controversial. Oh, and I just had to sneak in a piece about fishing in Appalachia, to make sure the East coast was represented too.
All in all, it’s a pretty well rounded issue that is certain to have an article you’ll want to bookmark to read again later.
Familiar and new contributors include: Brad Trumbo, Kevin Canfield, Nick Feller, Payton Skidmore, William (Bill) Robichaud, Patrick Allred, Michael Agneta, Dennis Vander Houwen, Martin Montejano, Mike Garrison, John Vetterli, Don Lux, Amanda Hoffner, and Rachael Rosenstein..
For now, this issue is only available as a physical magazine and/or PDF download in the Blurb bookstore, HERE.
Notes About Purchase
While this 92 page issue is still a bit more expensive than I would like, if you’d like to order a physical copy it will retail for $26, instead of last year’s $25. The printer made sure to charge us for the extra 8 pages and print-on-demand still isn’t cheap. (Full transparency, we only make a few $ an issue.) But I will say, and as those that have bought prior issues can attest, this Premium issue is a really high quality, heavy paper stock. Not a read & recycle/discard sort of magazine.
The magazine takes about a week or two to print, ship, and deliver the physical copies if you’re interested. And if you just can’t wait, there’s also a far less expensive PDF option at $10 with instant download.
What if I Wait?
While there’s nothing quite like paging through a physical magazine, there will be other options in the future… given you’re very patient. As always, we will eventually add this magazine to our “free” magazine reader (as in the past). You can check out last year’s issue there right now. We’ll also begin to publish the individual articles to the Tenkara Angler website starting sometime later this year.
I really hope you all enjoy the 2025 Tenkara Angler magazine as much as we enjoy bringing it to you. Sorry it took a little longer than usual, thank you so much for being a fantastic fishing community!
