Ryan Jordan (founder, Backpacking Light), was the first licensed and certified tenkara fishing guide in the United States (licensed by the Montana Board of Outfitters and certified by Tenkara USA). Since then, Ryan has guided and instructed new and seasoned tenkara anglers from all over the world and has developed unique perspectives on educating clients about how to land steelhead and large trout on tenkara, creating advanced casting sequences, and introducing tenkara to children and other new anglers. Ryan has focused on advocating for tenkara for backcountry enthusiasts.
