Don’t forget to vote in Tenkara Angler’s 2021 Tenkara Rod Madness… our version of basketball brackets, with your favorite teams swapped out for your favorite tenkara rods.
We’ve been accumulating votes through the Google Form on THIS POST and the response has been very interesting. With almost 100 surveys completed in our “regular season,” there have been over 50 individual rod models nominated for our post-season, single elimination tournament.
So Who Are The Top Seeds So Far?
Twenty-two different rods have received multiple votes, and the rod with the inside track to the overall #1 seed is the DRAGONtail Mizuchi with 6 votes.
Other rods performing well in conference play are as follows:
- 5 votes – DRAGONtail Mutant, Oni Type I, TenkaraBum 36, TenkaraBum 40
- 4 votes – NIRVANA 400, Tenkara USA Sato
- 3 votes – DRAGONtail Hellbender, Oni Type III, Tenkara USA Ito, Tenkara USA Iwana, Tenkara USA Rhodo
There are a lot of rods with one vote. Some of examples of these small school bracket busters may be the Causwell 8-Footer, Karasu 360, Riverworks ZX3, Suntech Kurenai HM30R, TenkaraPrim Professional 400, and the Uxcell Telescopic Stream Rod 270 Yellow.
Will they spring an upset, guess we’ll find out next week.
It’s Not Too Late To Vote!
The Google Form will remain open through “Selection Sunday”, March 14th, so if you haven’t voted your favorite into Tenkara Rod Madness, what are you waiting for?
There were a few prominent rod companies that haven’t had a single model nominated. So where are you Shimano, Tiny Tenkara, Red Brook, Maxcatch, Shimotsuke and Zen Tenkara Nations? Don’t sit on your hands, get out there and vote your favorite rod(s) in!
