Today we are kicking off a new video & post theme called “Things I Like”. Anthony recently brought this idea to the team. As he pitched it, “they will focus things we enjoy – from gadgets, to rigging, to destinations – that may or may not warrant a whole video for themselves.”
In this video I talk a little about on-stream hydration. The “Things I Like” being Grayl water filter & purifier bottles. See, I’ve struggled with other clunkier forms of on-the-go filtration over the years. However after being introduced to these bottles last Fall, they’ve become an essential part of my kit.

Nice. But it may be problematic in the Driftless from November to April because of freezing temps.
Yet another reason for people to never go to the Driftless… 😉
All these years and this is the first time I’ve heard your voice! Thanks for this recommendation. In the summer, I can’t carry enough water even with a 3L Camelbak bladder and I’ve been looking for a solution.
Nice! Worth looking into at least… The bottles aren’t inexpensive, but I couldn’t have been happier with their form and function.
I did order one.
My GRAYL showed up in the mail. Looks good. I’ll definitely start using it next Spring.
I love the Grayl bottle. Just ordered the smaller one so that it fits easier in my Fishpond water bottle holder…the larger one is just tacky enough on the outside that it is a PITA to put in.
