TenkaraCamp: Great Smoky Mountains
When: Friday April 21 – Sunday April 23rd
Where: Elkmont Campground, Great Smoky Mountains National Park (near Gatlinburg, TN).
This is a “FREE TO ATTEND” gathering. Come join us for this weekend. Last year we had 40 campers and 50+ attendees. We are anticipating a larger response this year. Go book your campsite now.
All the details will start to form up over the next weeks and we will be putting out a comprehensive update very soon. This notice is to get these dates on your calendars and clear your schedules so that you can attend. Book your lodging, campsite or hotels NOW.
We anticipate the return of “Streamside Clinics” where we will have several topics set up to attend. These will be lead by an assortment of experienced tenkara anglers like: Jason Sparks, Rob Worthing, Matt Sment and more.
You will be responsible for booking individual campsites this year. Elkmont Camp Facilities info here
The “Group Camp Sites” are not open for the season at this date. You can set up your reservations easily through the NPS Reservation website. (Book Now). We currently have several sites at B8, B9 and B10. There will be nightly gathering and campfires here as a central point. Fishing parties will launch from here also. It is the “X MARKS THE SPOT” of this TenkaraCamp. There are also many AirBNB type cabins in the area to glamp in, as well as hotels in Gatlinburg, TN.

Seems I can’t be in 2 places at once so I’ll be missing this years campout.
Dang it. Going to have to miss it again. Hopefully, this gets enough attendance that its worthwhile to do one in the fall. Someday….
I can’t do the Wisconsin camp out this year, but I won’t miss this one. Couldn’t get a streamside site, but Elkmont is one of my favorites.
Is this event still on? I haven’t seen the update post on details yet. Or am i not looking in the right place?
