DRAGONtail Kaida zx320 Tenkara Pack Rod Coming Soon!

It’s been a busy week at the Tenkara Angler news desk! Posts about a new tamo, a possible Bigfoot sighting, and tonight we’ve been tipped off that DRAGONtail will be releasing a new rod. The Kaida zx320 tenkara pack rod will be arriving later this year.

While there aren’t a lot of details to share, we’ve gathered the following information about this successor to the Talon. The Kaida will be a two length zoom rod that true to its “pack rod” designation collapses down very small. Making it convenient to stow away almost anywhere. Additionally, and possibly more exciting, it will be have a little bit of fiberglass in its construction. This is to overcome the stiffness that many other zoom rods encounter. While it might not be as flexy as a FoxFIRE, it’s nice to see this consideration.

The MSRP for the DRAGONtail Kaida tenkara pack rod will be $149.99, but if you visit their website, you can sign up to be notified when it goes on pre-sale. DRAGONtail is promising a “highly discounted” price upon launch, so it’s worth keeping an eye on if this is the sort of rod that interests you. Perhaps those of you that have been to one of the fly fishing shows this year may have even already seen this rod in action.

Oh, and what’s a “kaida” you might ask? It means “little dragon” in Japanese. Very appropriate.
