As 2022 is about to enter its final weeks, Tenkara Angler is looking ahead, and today we are happy to announce the addition of Tom Davis to our team!
Tom is one of those people in the tenkara community that doesn’t really need an introduction. It would have been impossible to do any research on tenkara rods over the past decade without landing on his extensive catalog of reviews and videos on his blog Teton Tenkara. Plus, if you happen to own a DRAGONtail Mizuchi, well… you’ve already felt his influence on tenkara in the palm of your hand.
Tom recently approached Tenkara Angler looking for a place where his rod reviews might be of best use to the larger tenkara community moving forward. How could we say no to that proposition? But fear not, Teton Tenkara is not going anywhere! Tom told me he’d like to do more story telling, “journal-style” posts over there moving forward.
Tenkara Angler has been fortunate to have Tom Davis as a contributing author in the past. Two of his more popular articles include The Short Game: Tenkara in Small Waters and Tom’s Four Favorite Wool Bodied Flies for Tenkara, Tom was also the featured guest in Episode 2 of the Level Line Podcast.
Tom’s scientific approach to gear evaluation, years of experience with both “western” fly fishing and tenkara, sterling reputation and general good-natured personality make him great fit for what Tenkara Angler is planning in the future. Tom will also be an in-house resource that focuses on waters in the Mountain West, eventually closing a gap in our current regional coverage.
As Tom gets settled into these new surroundings, please feel free to (re)read his catalog of prior posts. He’s also been mentioned in many articles authored by others which reflects his large impact on the community and industry. I’m certain you’ll enjoy them all.
Please join us in welcoming him to the Tenkara Angler team!
